Gary Chang, MD is a board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management specialist with 15 years’ experience in non-operative interventional diagnostic and therapeutic pain procedures to treat back and neck pain. He has performed over 50,000 fluoroscopic guided interventional spinal procedures to treat neck and back pain.
Dr. Chang completed his undergraduate education at Loyola University in Los Angeles. He earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He next completed an internship at Harbor–UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, where he also completed a residency in anesthesiology.
He is board-certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine, the American Academy of Pain Management and the American Board of Anesthesiology
Dr. Chang is a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the American Academy of Pain Management, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Pain Society, the California Society of Anesthesiologists and the International Spinal Injection Society.
He has been involved in a variety of publications, lectures and presentations, including presentations on “Post-op Pain Management” at Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance and “Acupuncture in Pain Management” at the OR Nurses Association conference at San Pedro Hospital. He made presentations on “Multidisciplinary Approach to Spine Care” at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula in 2008 and 2009.
Dr. Chang joined the musculoskeletal care team at Monterey Spine & Joint in 2007.
